We took the kids over to Mighty Mud Mania, an annual event held by Scottsdale Parks and Rec. They fill a park with mud pits and obstacle courses and split the kids up by age and let them go for it. A whole lot of good, not clean fun. Then the fire fighters hose the kids down at the end. We took our bunch over thinking they'd love to get dirty. It took quite a bit of coaxing to talk them into getting messy. I don't think they knew quite what to do when we told them to slide into a pile of mud and take off running. Eventually, they were talked into it but it took a lot of work. Once they were filthy though they loved the hose off. The pics speak for themselves.

It's so funny that whenever you want kids to stay clean, they find the nearest puddle, but when you give them permission to play in the mud they don't want to! Looks like a lot of fun to me.
Looks so fun...we'll have to try it next year.
We are always saying to kids -don't get dirty, don't play in the mud etc etc and then we totally confuse them when we say - GO GET DIRTY! Glad they warmed up to all that mud fun!
Hahaha! Such obedient kids you have...and cute ones too!
that's so fun! I remember my dad used to have a mud tug of war at the high school he taught at. I was always too young to join them (for fear they would hurt me) but they had a blast.
